Ask the Readers: Why Do You Read?

People read for different reasons. Some read for entertainment, others to escape, some for knowledge, some for comfort, and a hoard of other reasons.

I for example read for all of the above and also because I can’t not read. If I go a week without reading (almost never happens), I don’t feel right. Things are out of balance. The world is wrong. I’m miserable.

But this post is to know WHY DO YOU READ?

Tell us in the comments below.

Like you, I can’t NOT read! Even if I can only read for 5 minutes before going to sleep, the 5 minutes is crucial. A reading journal is something I’ve kept off and on for years and, now, want to keep one, again for all the reasons you’ve listed. I’ll start tonight!

Ah another obsessed reader 🙂 Love it!!

I’m glad the post inspired you to try keeping a reading journal again. If you do it, let me know how it goes for you.

Oh dear! So far, not good. My reading journal is on my bedside table but I begin books all over the house so it isn’t where I’m at! Seemingly forever, I’ve been looking for “my spot” to create a home for things like that but so far am still working on it. I will update my reading journal for the last 3 book tomorrow — will put it on my side of the couch…

Or it could be something that travels with you all around the house with you 🙂
